For some years, UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, through FONDAZIONE UCIMU and group companies, has been promoting and organizing schemes aimed at attracting young people to machine tool manufacturing.
Every year, FONDAZIONE UCIMU awards the UCIMU PRIZES to the winners of a duly publicized competition who have submitted their engineering degree or diploma theses and compositions.
The year 1995 saw the inauguration of the “Fabbrica per l’Uomo” (man-made factory Project, the purpose of which is to promote permanent, direct links with companies, technical colleges and universities. The success of “Fabbrica Aperta”, a day on which factories are open to all-comers, during the months of April and May, has become and annual event for thousands of students and teachers throughout Italy.
Every year, “Orientagiovani” offers a conference, coinciding with the day appointed by Confindustria (the Italian Employers’ Association) for a get-together at its headquarters, to which all students of technical colleges are invited. The object is to discuss various aspects connected with job and training prospects in the industry.
There are also numerous links with the universities. For example, a series of schemes and contacts are kept up with the main Italian engineering faculties, aimed at organizing work experience and preparation for theses at companies in the industry.
Another opportunity to make contact with all the training and informative schemes promoted by UCIUM-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE and to get to know more about supply and demand on the labour market is PIANETA GIOVANI, the space organized, as from 2000, at the BI-MU machine tool, robot and automation exhibition, held every two years.
