12.04.2019 -

About fifty Italian machine tool, robot and automation manufacturers will participate in CIMT 2019, the exhibition dedicated to the sector, which will be held in Beijing from 15 to 20 April.

As usual coordinated by ICE-Italian Trade Agency and UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Italian Collective will be presented over an area of around 2,000 square meter. On show, there will be all types of technologies, covering the whole range of the product offering in the sector and thus confirming the importance of this exhibition event for Italian enterprises that have always given particular attention to China.

With a turnover exceeding 9 billion euro in 2018, the Italian industry manufacturing machine tools, robots, automation systems and auxiliary technologies plays a leading role in the international scenario, ranking fourth among manufacturing countries and third among exporters.

Flexibility, very high technological standards, strong customization of product offering, careful service: these are the characteristics that have been always distinguishing the Italian production of the sector. To these peculiarities, today the Italian manufacturers add a wide digital component, supported and incentivised by some significant Government provisions concerning Industry 4.0. Owing to this, the Made in Italy product supply of the sector shows an even higher level of quality and innovation compared with the product offering of some years ago, all to the benefit of end users all over the world, in particular of the Chinese users involved in the deep development process started in their country.

In 2018, the exports of Made by Italians products to China reached 340 million euro, corresponding to 10% of the total exported. Thanks to these results, China is the third market of destination for the Italian product supply of the sector.

Massimo Carboniero, President of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, who will lead the Italian delegation at CIMT in Beijing, pointed out: “China represents an area with enormous potential for the Italian machine tool manufacturers that consider this country not a simple market of destination for their products, but rather a partner with whom to have a dialogue and collaborate”.

“China intends to grow further in the manufacturing industry and the Italian industry of the sector may contribute to reaching this goal, described also in the Government plans of “High Profile Manufacture”. Italian manufacturers propose themselves as partners capable of providing top-quality and strongly customised solutions, synonyms of a product offering that can be complementary to that of local manufacturers”.

The participation in CIMT – added the President of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE – is one of the numerous initiatives included in the programme defined by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, together with the Ministry of Economic Development and ICE-Italian Trade Agency, with the aim of encouraging and increasing the international presence of Italian enterprises in China”.

“As usual, we are very satisfied with the precious support guaranteed by the Office of ICE-Italian Trade Agency in Beijing to the organisation of the Italian Collective, which takes shape not only in the setting-up of the exhibition area, but also in the large number of promotion and networking initiatives activated in the Chinese market. These initiatives – concluded President Carboniero – are very useful also in view of the second Italian-Chinese Machine Tool Forum that is scheduled to take place next autumn, organised by the Ministry of Economic Development, the Embassy of Italy to the People’s Republic of China, ICE-Italian Trade Agency, CMTBA and UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE.

“We are sure that the cooperation opportunities between China and Italy will significantly develop during the next years, in line with that “synchronicity” among the two countries and their respective economies, which allowed a steady increase in their import-export trade,” comments Amedeo Scarpa, Director of the ICE-Italian Trade Agency in Beijing and Coordinator of the ICE Offices in China. “It is exactly “complementarity” the password that will have to trace the path for future developments, always in a win-win perspective. The recent State visit of President Xi Jinping to Italy was the occasion to confirm the path started in this direction, by signing numerous agreements concerning infrastructures, energy, transports, finance, technology and innovation, including start-ups, also signed by our Ministry of Economic Development (MISE). We hope that this speedup may lead to new ways of collaboration in the sector of industrial machinery, which, as already mentioned today, represents the first item in the trade between Italy and China, as a testimony to the essential role it plays in the dialogue between the two economies.

For the Collective at CIMT 2019 we launched a new digital communication plan that will be broadcast in the main Chinese b2b online channels (Metal Working live page, Wechat, Weibo, Toutiao), by which we expect to reach 70,000 contact points”.
