10.06.2025 -

UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Italian machine tools, robots and automation systems manufacturers' association has changed its General Manager and chosen Davide Della Bella to lead the organisation that has over 250 member companies and whose president is Riccardo Rosa.

Appointed by the Executive Board, which gathered at its meeting on Tuesday, 10 June, Davide Della Bella has taken the baton from Alfredo Mariotti, who led the association for over 30 years and will continue to deal with the trade fairs managed by the association.

Called to the position of deputy general manager of UCIMU in October 2024, with the aim of ensuring a smooth handover and full continuity of the projects already underway, since January 2025, Davide Della Bella has been secretary of the UCIMU Foundation, the group company that deals with strategic studies and research activities in support of the manufacturing sector. He is executive director of CEU and EFIM, companies dealing with the organisation of trade fairs and initiatives for the sector, and of SOFIMU, which coordinates the participations of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE and carries out activities to promote the initiatives developed within the association.

From 2009 to 2024, he was general manager of ECOLE-Enti Confindustriali Lombardi per l'Education (Lombard Confindustrial Bodies for Education), a professional training organisation, of which UCIMU and seven local associations, including Assolombarda, are members. For over 15 years, holding this position, Davide Della Bella led a team of professionals capable of designing and conducting complex training and consulting programmes for companies. Under his leadership, ECOLE has grown and developed to become one of the leading organisations specialising in education and training, not only for the manufacturing sector but also for that of services.

During his career, Della Bella has actively taken part in the development of national policies, operating as a member of the Working Group on the Italian Skills Strategy led by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, in cooperation with the OECD.

Born in 1974, Davide Della Bella holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Milan.

Davide Della Bella commented: “I am proud to have been appointed to lead such a prestigious and authoritative association as UCIMU. I take this appointment with the awareness of the great work carried out by my predecessors, who gave shape to ideas and projects developed by a solid and professional structure. My work at UCIMU, which started nine months ago, will be to increase the visibility of the association with institutions and stakeholders, intensifying lobbying activities and enhancing the value of the technical, social and cultural know-how of the enterprises in the sector, also by collecting contributions from the member companies. At the same time, I will strive to develop activities and services capable of supporting and accompanying the growth of our member companies in this period characterised by profound changes in the context. I will do this with the support of the entire team and starting from a punctual readiness to listen to member companies, who will thus become an active part in the planning of initiatives. A progressive and reasoned modernisation of the association, starting with digitalisation and identification of new trends, will be fundamental to the achievement of results”.

Riccardo Rosa, president of UCIMU, stated: “On behalf of UCIMU as a whole, I would like to thank Alfredo Mariotti, who led the association for over thirty years with dedication and competence, significantly contributing to the growth and consolidation of its role on the Italian and international industrial scene.  We wish the new director, Davide Della Bella, all the best in his work. As secretary of the UCIMU Foundation and deputy general manager, he has already demonstrated the necessary skills and vision to lead the organisation”.
